Black Magic began it's first day of business on July 15, 1988. This company was created to fulfill the performance needs and desires of all current Arctic Cat owners and hopefully cause additional consumers to want to become part of the "CAT" family.

There were many questions and long discussions that took place prior to this company becoming a reality. What is Black Magic's responsibility? Who should Black Magic deal with? Dealers, Consumers, or both? What types of products do the Consumers want? What do they need? Well, to make a long story short, I can say that the answer to all questions was "Black Magic," was created to make all existing and future Arctic Cat owners "Feel Warm and Fuzzy" about owning a Cat.

During the early years our small crew specialized in engine modifications and basic performance upgrades. We also created a few hand-built specialty sleds. This included the "MAGICAT", "HOWLER" and the "Z-FORCE" custom sleds. All of these units featured modified engines, hand built pipes, and a custom fabricated front and rear suspension systems to bring the package together.

While clutching these custom-built vehicles, we realized that most "Stock" snowmobiles could usually use a bit of "pop" in their production clutching. With that in mind, the "HEARTTHROB CLUTCH SYSTEMS" were initiated during the '89-90 season. This type of product has been imitated by a number of other aftermarket companies but the truth is still in force - dollar-for- dollar, a "HEART THROB CLUTCH KIT" for your CAT is your best investment yet!

In October of 2005, the assets of what then was Black Magic Motorsports Inc. were purchased and a new corporation was formed, operating under the name Black Magic Powersports. 

A full line of products for Arctic Cat snowmobiles, and soon to come Arctic Cat ATV/UTV are featured on our website www.blackmagicracing.com, and the majority of these products are produced in house at Thief River Falls, MN. Our facility is situated on a 6 acre site with over 15,000 square feet of working area for designing, testing and manufacturing by our employees, in the heart of the snowmobile industry.

The future customer of Black Magic will be able to experience the ultimate - clutching that leaves no question as to who is quickest, lightweight vehicles, combined with incredible horsepower. This can only be attributed to our employees burning desire to succeed and their never-ending effort to always come in first! Why--because second place is just that--second place.
